All breeds of dairy cattle sold well at a multi-breed show and sale at Carlisle, where trade peaked at 3000gns for a Holstein from the famous Promis cow family
The sale, which included consignments from the Clifton and Monument Jersey herds, was led by the fresh heifer, Petteril Shamrock Pledge, from S and A Morley, Petteril Bank. She was purchased by W Brewster, Wester Morland, Stirling.
Red and whites sold to 2900gns for the sole bull, West Mossgiel Modern Talent, from Stuart Gilliland, Castle Douglas, and Jerseys peaked at 2800gns for an entry from DC and S Bland's production sale.
