Charolais bulls met a ready trade in Dungannon, peaking at 5200gns to average £3182 for 26.
Topping the lots was the reserve champion from the pre-sale show, Drumconnis Marvel, a 14-month-old bull from John McGrath, Dromore, Co Tyrone. Backed by Scottish genetics on both sides, he is by the 28,000gns Elgin Glenlivet, out of Loganbar Hemisphere and sold to S Quigg, Garvagh, Co Derry.
Next at 4900gns was the November 2015-born Coolnaslee Largolf, whose breeding includes the 12,000gns Maerdy Fiend and maternal grandsire the 55,000gns Balmoral interbreed champion Sportsmans Columbo. Consigned by Gilbert Crawford, Maghera, Largolf was knocked down to Norman Johnston, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.
Mr Crawford also sold the champion, Coolnaslee Master, a 15-month old entry that was reserve junior at the Pedigree Calf Fair in November. Stephen McGuinness, Greysteel, Co Derry, forked out 4600gns for this son of the 22,000gns Newhouse Bigal out of a home-bred dam which again goes back to Columbo.
Minutes earlier, Glenbuck Lawyer secured a 4700gns bid from Seamus McMullan, Bellaghy, Co Derry. Lawyer a December-2015 born entry by Blelack Digger that stood first in his class, was consigned by for Robin O’Mullan, Rasharkin, Co Antrim.
Females were topped by an entry from Harold Stubbs and grandson Alan Burleigh of Crummy, Co Fermanagh. Their 15-month-old  female champion and supreme overall, Derryharney Moonlight, by Doonally New, was snapped up by H and H Heron, Newtownards, Co Down for 3300gns.
