LEADING the entry at a show and sale of dairy cattle at Skipton, was a home-bred heifer which secured Richard and Andrew Walker, of East Morton, their first Skipton championship. 
Picked out by judge Peter Sowray, she sold having calved 14 days ago and giving 31 litres to Richard Sutcliffe, Queensbury, for the top price of £2180. 
Mr Sutcliffe also bought the reserve from Wilson Stewart, Carlisle, for £1880. 
The first prize cow, from DS and A Fort, Glusburn, sold to Sowray Bros, Bishop Thornton, for £1920. 
In-calf heifers from Robert Lambert, Milehouse, hit £1500 and £1440, with both selling to Roger Naylor, Langbar.
