British Blues met a steady trade at the breed's Border Club autumn show and sale at Carlisle, where the top three highest priced bulls sold to Scotland.
Dearest at 7200gns when purchased by A Baillie, Low Glasnick, Kirkcowan, Newton Stewart, was the reserve male champion and reserve overall. Selling at this price was the 31-month-old black bull, Chalford Manor Knockout ET, from D Plested, Chinnor, Oxon. This son of Cromwell Fendt, which was the first lot through the ring, is out of the Twyning Ash Vaughan daughter, Cromwell Diddup.
The second bull in the catalogue, Almeley Kasper from Graham Morgan's herd from The Cider Mill, Tillington, made 7000gns selling to Lanarkshire producers, J Hyslop and Sons, Netherton, Abington. The breeding behind this 28-month-old white bull includes Drybarrows Cawdale, onto the Almeley Wellington daughter, Almeley Ebony.
Next, at 6500gns, M Stevenson, Balcamie, Dailly, Girvan, bought DJ and B Spours' Brownridge Blues Knight Rider ET, from Twizell, Belfor. This 25-month-old is by Henlli Wishmaster and out of College Valley Ellie, bred by Ted Fox.
Averages: Eight bulls, £5118.75; three females, £3850.00.
