A select show and sale of pedigree Limousin cattle forward for a society show and sale at Brecon, saw prices peak at 6400gns for Robin and Deborah Whittle's July 2016-born bull, Wellhouse Merry.

The bull, a Chatsworth Jojo son, from Cilcrug Farm, Trawsmawr, Carmarthen, is out of Wellhouse Ginny and sold to JIH Jones and Son who run a commercial suckler herd at Erw Gilfach, Builth Wells.

Three bulls made 5000gns or more to include Mrs C Davies' Glencross McMaster from Glanyfer, Crosswell, which realised 5100gns selling to DB Davies, Eisteddfa Fawr, Brynberian, Crymych. Shown successfully over the year, this March 2016-born bull is entirely homebred being a son of Glencross Incredibull out of Glencross Furious.

Killerton Mallachite from PW and SM Greed, Columbjohn Farm, Exeter, made 5000gns selling to E and HM Jones, Aberbranddu, Carmarthenshire. Malachite is by Loosebeare Exmoor, a Haltcliffe Anzac son, and out of Killerton Emerald.

Also hitting 5000gns was Nealford Minister from Cornwall breeders, JH Neale and Son, Wilkie Down, Launceston. April 2016-born, he is by Glenrock Fortune, out of Nealford Henella and sold to G Morgan for his 75-cow suckler herd at Bronglyn, Llanfynydd, Carmarthen.

An even smaller sale of females saw a lead price of 2600gns for the July-born first calver Deri Jinja from TB Griffiths, Brynderi, Carmarthen, which sold with her Jinz-sired bull calf, Deri Nero. Jinja is by Dinmore Gameboy, out of Deri Ginger, with the mother and daughter duo selling to JJ Butler, Symons Trewen, Whitchurch, Ross-on-Wye.
