HARRISON and Hetherington held its annual show and sale of Christmas primestock and store cattle at Broughton, where Paul Bradley, Moorgreen Farm, Bootle, had the task of judging the shows of both cattle and sheep. 
Scooping the cattle championship was a British Blue cross bullock from M and D Hatton, Knott End, which later topped the sale at £1200 when sold to F and B Smith, Carnforth.
Reserve was another British Blue cross, this time the first prize continental heifer from NA and J Temple, Blackhall. She made £1100 to RA and C Benson, Ulverston. 
Among the sheep, a pen of five Beltex lambs from A and C Park, St Bees, took the championship and topped the sale at £105 per head when sold to Wilsons Butchers, Egremeont. 
Suffolk lambs from I Millard, Old Hyton, Egremont, stood reserve and later sold for £84 per life to Two Sisters Red Meat, Merthyr Tydfil.
