PRICES peaked at 3850gns at a recent Limousin society show and sale at Brecon Livestock Market, when a May 2016-born bull from PW and SM Greed, Columbjohn, Rewe, Exeter, sold to PJ Haynes and Sons' Langton herd at Meadow Farm, Thorp Lacton, Market Harborough.

The bull, Killerton Manu, by the stock bull, Emslies Horny which was purchased at Carlisle in 2013 for 12,500gns, is out of the Penyrheol Carlos daughter, Killerton Georgia. He carries a beef value of LM+52.

Just behind at 3700gns when sold to ASL and D Lewis, Llanbister, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, was Nealford Master from JH Neal and Son, Wilkie Down, Launceston, Cornwall. This 18-month-old son of Wilodge Cerberus, by Ampertaine Foreman, is out of one of the top cows in the herd, Nealford Tracy.

Two bulls from the Quick family's Loosebeare herd from Crediton, Devon, hit 3500gns, with the first being Loosebeare Miami, a May 2016-born bull by Loosebeare Jeeves. Out of Loosebeare Impulse, this bull's grand-dam is a full sister to the noted Loosebeare Fantastic. He was bought by G and A Williams and Son, Treddiog Fawr, Pembrokeshire.

Matching that price was the overall champion, Loosebeare Manchester, a Rocky son, out of Loosebeare Evilla, who sold to Carmarthenshire with JR Norejko, Llandovery.

Following the sale of bulls, two maiden heifers from WDD and C James, Carmarthenshire, sold to average £2362.50, while a cow and calf outfit from G Morris, Breacon, made 2700gns.
