Holstein heifers from Fife breeder, Gavin Struthers' Balcurvie herd from Windygates, enjoyed a field day at Wright Marshall's Mid-Month Dairy sale at Beeston, selling two of the three £2100, top priced lots.
The sale which saw 230 head of cattle forward, saw Balcurvie Graham Laureen 23 and Balcurvie Euphoric Catrina 31, two recently calved heifers giving 33kg each per day, both sell to D and MR Davies, Llanymynech, Powys at £2100.
The same buyers also bought the third £2100 heifer, GJ Sutton's Rowarton Baltimor Brenda 2, from Bent Farm, Astbury, Congleton, which changed hands giving 39kg.
Mr Struthers also received £2020, £2000 twice and £1950 for calved heifers and topped the cow trade at £1900 for a second calver by Altajenkins giving 36kg per day.
In-calf heifers peaked at £1440 for a Mincio heifer a month off calving to an Angus from DW and MN Ishmael, Gathurst Fold Farm, Orrell, Wigan.
