A BRITISH Blue bull led the offering of registered and non-registered bulls at Darlington Farmers' Auction Mart, on Tuesday, when the two-year-old from the Stones family at Nun Cote Nook sold for 3800gns.
Bred from an easy-calving line, he is by Ruaig Cobra – a bull bred on the Isle of Tiree – and sold to BC and C Gregg, at Angram Cote, Ellingstring.
Hitting the 2650gns mark was a 30-month-old Limousin bull from J and F Hartley and Sons, Low Shipley, Hamsterley, which sold to J Walshaw and Son, Dryderdale, Hamsterley.
A consignment of dairy cross British Blue heifers with Limousin-sired calves at foot from T and G Lee, East Crane Row, Hamsterley, sold well and topped at £1700, with cows and calves to £1600 from W and C Iceton.
