STORE cattle were easily cashed at Aberdeen and Northern Marts where averages rose on the week as 1071 bullocks levelled at 236p per kg (+3.5p) and 961 heifers averaged 229.3p (+2.7p). 

Topping the entry at 294.6p was a 404kg Charolais cross heifer from Darley, Fyvie, with heifers also hitting £1375 for a 738kg Aberdeen-Angus cross from Bridgefoot, Kemnay. A 732kg Charolais cross bullock from West Davoch, Tarland, topped the gross trade at £1390, and a pair of 286kg Limousin cross bullocks from Bogmore, Duncanstone, made 286.7p. 

Bulls (18) sold to 231p for a 342kg Salers cross from Harestone, Crathes, and £1130 for a pair of 650kg Charolais from Little Millbrex, Fyvie.

Of the Orkney and Shetland cattle, a pen of 396kg Simmental bullocks from Braebuster, Deerness, topped at 277.7p and a pair of 596kg Charolais bullocks from Nearhouse, Harray, led the gross trade at £1230. 

Some 1846 store, breeding and feeding sheep were on offer, where Suffolk gimmers from Silverleys, Duncanstone, topped the 96 grit ewes at £155 and the 35 ewes with lambs reached £52 per life for Texels with singles from Craigiebank, Largie. 

Texels from Silverleys topped the 807 store hoggs at £67 with more of the same from Lower Cottisgarth, Rendale, topped the 54 island hoggs at £55. 

More Texels, this time from Veltigar, Tankerness, topped the 854 feeding ewes and rams at £120.
