STORE hoggs sold dearer on the week and feeding ewes met a sound trade at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale of 1883 breeding sheep, store hoggs and feeding sheep, which included consignments from Orkney and Shetland. 

Mule gimmers from Tillybrig, Dunecht, topped the 94 grit females at £122, while continental ewes from South Farden, Newburgh, led the 20 ewes with lambs at £40. 

Store hoggs (707) reached £87 for Texels from Newton of Carnousie, Forglen, with 80 island hoggs to £67 for Suffolks from Skelbister, Orphir. 

Texels from Milltown of Birness, Ellon, and Suffolks from Mains of Orchardtown, Udny, both topped the 982 feeding sheep at £110.
