LIMOUSIN cross bullocks from Guise Farm Partnership, Tough, picked up the champion and reserve tickets at a show of sale of store cattle at Aberdeen and Northern Marts, on Friday. 

Judge Ian Thomson, Middleton of Potterton, picked out a 14-month-old weighing 518kg as his champion which he later bought for the top price of £1480. In reserve was a 19-month-old scaling 622kg which sold to Backmuir Trading, Keith, for £1400. 

Taking the heifer championship was a 532kg Limousin cross from J Cameron and Sons, Corse of Kinnoir, which also sold to Backmuir Trading, this time for £1280. The same home produced the reserve heifer which also sold to Backmuir Trading, this time for £1200 at a weight of 514kg. 

J McConachie and Son, Lethendry, produced the champion pair, a 448kg Limousin cross bullock duo that was knocked down to Reidhall Farms, Edzell, for £1180. 

Overall, 557 heifers cashed in to average 240.1p per kg (+10.6p on the week) with 942 bullocks at 237.2p (+0.1p).
