IT was a Limousin heifer her Limousin-sired heifer and bull calves that headed up Harrison and Hetherington's sale of beef breeding cattle when the unit from Messrs Elliot, Bank House, realised £3000, with other entries from the same home to £2800.

Cows with calves reached 2400 for a Limousin from Messrs Stevenson and Sons, Lower Langshaw, while in-calf females peaked at £1580 for a British Blue cross heifer from Messrs Graham, Castle Farm.

A small show of bulling heifers hit £1400 for a pen of nine Limousins from Messrs Harrison, Dundraw Farm.

ALL classes met a brisk trade at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale of 72 breeding cattle, where a Simmental cross heifer with heifer calf at foot from Fairburn, Longmanhill, topped at £2200.

Cows with calves reached £1700 for a Simmental cross with bull calf from Whitehouse Lumphanan. In-calf females sold to £1750 for a Simmental cross from Broadsea, Burnhervie, with cows to £1650 for a Blonde cross from 3 Tops House Cottage.
