Beltex gimmers from Andrew Baillie's Callacrag flock from Carstairs, led the breed sale at Lanark, which was staged as part of the LiveScot event, selling the top two highest priced lots at 2000gns and 1100gns.

The former, Callacrag Angel, which was also reserve champion at the pre-sale show, is by the 10,000gns Quarrymount William Wallace and out of the 2015 gimmer, Callacrag Style, by Clary Prankster. This year's show gimmer, Angel sold carrying a single lamb by the 3000gns Aviemore Black Spot, to Northern Ireland breeder, Kenny Preston, Tarcur Road, Omagh.

The same buyer also bought second entry, Callacrag Active, by Muirton Toy Boy, bred from the Clary Prankster daughter, Callacrag Tights, at 1100gns. She sold due to William Wallace.

Mr Bailie topped the averages league, selling five at £951.30.

The champion from Andrew and Hilary Morton, son Andrew and daughter Kirsty, made 1000gns selling to the judge, Henry Jewitt. This was Morton Anne, a Curwen Hill Stiffler daughter out of Mortons Sleeping Beauty, from Lochend, Denny, Stirling. The service sire was Beachy Norman, a former Carlisle champion winner.
