IT was a Texel gimmer from Kerr Jarvie's Duncryne flock from Muthill that topped the Highland Ladies sale of pedigree females at Dingwall and Highland Marts' Dingwall centre last week, when the reserve breed champion from the pre-sale show sold for 3700gns.
She is sired by the 11,000gns Stainton Vigilante and sold carrying a single to the 20,000gns Knap You're The Man.
The Texel champion was next in the trade stakes when Robbie Wilson's Aman Vyrnwy-sired gimmer from North Dorlaithers, Turriff, sold for 2100gns scanned with a single to Glenside Wild Boy.
In the Suffolk section, both the champion and reserve female sold for 1000gns apiece. Taking the top title was a ewe by Balquhain Bargain from K Hourston's dispersal of the Didcot flock from Skelbister. She was scanned with a pair to Lakeview Looks The Part.
The reserve, a Muirton One Direction-bred gimmer from Jim Innes' Strathbogie flock from Dunscroft, Huntly, matched that when she sold carrying twins to Lakeview No Limits.
Among the Beltex females it was an in-lamb gimmer from Bharangyne that topped the section at 400gns.
The champion came next when Donald Douglas' Airyolland Sovereign-sired gimmer from his Beechcross flock at Braes of Coulmore, North Kessock, sold for 350gns. She was carrying a pair by Clary Bandit.
John Scott from Fearn, Tain, claimed the reserve ticket with a Kingledores Rebel-bred gimmer which sold for 300gns. She was another carrying twins, this time to Loandhu Wallas.
Ewe lambs reached 400gns for a Suffolk from Marian, Evanton.
