JUST shy of 7000 Swaledale ewe lambs were entered for Harrison and Hetherington’s show and sale at Middleton in Teesdale, where a top price of £240 per head was paid for a pen of 10 from Geoff and Carol Marwood’s Long Green flock from Barningham.
They sold to Arthur Slack, Stoneriggs, Hilton, Appleby.
The champion pen, from F and MP Allinson, West Briscoe, made £180 to Neil Marston, Milestone Moor, Cockermouth, while the second prize pen from Burncroft, Egglestone, realised £230 to ME Allinson, Mill Lane House, Leyburn.
Overall, the sale averaged £73.90, down £6.67 on the year for 276 more sold.
