Prices peaked at 1400gns at Malcolm Stewart’s on-farm sale of commercial Suffolk shearling rams, staged at Brotherstone Farm, Melrose.
The sale, which saw 42 of the 50 rams forward change hands, was led by a high index ram purchased by SB Knox and Son, North Balloch, Alyth.
Regular buyers, JW Fullerton, Corsbie, Earlston, bought one of two shearlings to sell for the second top price of 1100gns.
James Mongomery, Colmslie Farm House, Langshaw, Gallashiels, bought the second.
Two lots made 1050gns, purchased by AS Hogg and Partners, Birkenside, Earlston, and MJ Clarke, East Tullyfergus, Alyth, Blairgowrie, respectively.
