A near total clearance was achieved at C and D Auction Marts' annual tup and female sale staged at Anderson Park, in conjunction with the Kintyre Agricultural Society, where a good day ensured a large crowd of buyers.
An entry of 87 rams and 226 females saw trade peak at £600 twice for Suffolk shearlings from T Cameron, Gartvaigh, purchased by Messrs Millar, High Cattadale.
Females sold to £125 per head for a pen of North Country Cheviot gimmers from Sue Francis, Balure purchased by Messrs Gemmill, Ifferdale.
