An Auldhouseburn gimmer led Builth Babes in-lamb Texel sale when selling for 4000gns at Builth Wells Livestock Market.

The sale topper from Alan Blackwood, Muirkirk, is sired by Seaforde Empire King, out of a Knap Vicious Sid daughter and sold in-lamb with twins to the 130,000gns Haymount Fan Dabi Dozi. She headed to Herefordshire to Vaughan Farms’ Kingspark flock.

Another by the same sire from the same home then took the next best price of 3000gns. She is out of a Knock Yardsman daughter and sold carrying twins to the privately purchased Hope Valley Golden Balls. This one was bought by Robert Evans, Hope Valley.

Making 2800gns was another Auldhouseburn gimmer, this time by Clinterty Yuga Khan and out of the noted Cowal ewe CKC1000201, herself a Kelso Pavarotti daughter. This one was sold carrying a single to Fan Dabi Dozi, and was knocked down to John Neville, Eire. Another gimmer from the Auldhouseburn pen was next in the money at 1500gns when finding a new home with TWG and N Davies. This Saltcaotes E Class-sired gimmer is out of a dam by Rhaeadr Best of the Best and was again in-lamb to Fan Dabi Dozi, this time with twins.

On the flip side, Alan Blackwood went to 1800gns for a two-crop ewe from the Davies family’s Teilo flock. A daughter of Deveronvale Viscount she is out of a Knock Nugget-sired dam and sold in-lamb to Haymount Finders Keepers. Nick Legge’s Thornbury flock then produced another at the same price. She is by Usk Vale Champagne Charlie and out of a Rhaeadr ewe by Clinterty Yuga Khan. She sold carrying twins to Ettrick Grey Goose and was the pick of W H Williams and Son for the Dolau flock.
