STUDENTS at Scottish catering colleges are being invited to enter a competition being run by the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, and supported by Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), offering a top prize of a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Dubai to work with acclaimed Scottish chef Tristin Farmer.

QMS invites all young Scottish chefs to enter with the backing of your mentor/assessor by submitting your dish which best compliments Aberdeen-Angus Scotch Beef. If you are successful, you will then be invited to the cook off at Braehead Foods, Kilmarnock, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 where you will showcase your dish and create canapes with ingredients from the mystery box.

The three finalists will be invited to the World Angus Forum conference at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on Monday, June 26, and the winning canapes will be served at the gala dinner at the National Museum of Scotland.

Two runners-up will also win a week placement in Scottish chef Jak O’Donnell’s ‘The Sisters’ restaurants in Glasgow.

Entries close on Friday, April 21. For more information, contact: Hazel Baxter at hazel@aberdeen-angus.co.uk
