A much improved show of Suffolk sheep for the breed�s national show and sale at Shrewsbury, met an increased demand with overall ram lamb averages improving by £191 per head, bolstered by a lead price of 20,000gns for the best from Aberdeenshire breeder, Jimmy Douglas, Woodhead of Cairness, Fraserburgh.

A much improved show of Suffolk sheep for the breed's national show and sale at Shrewsbury, met an increased demand with overall ram lamb averages improving by £191 per head, bolstered by a lead price of 20,000gns for the best from Aberdeenshire breeder, Jimmy Douglas, Woodhead of Cairness, Fraserburgh.

The sale, staged last weekend, was led by Mr Douglas' overall champion, selected by the pre-sale judge, Ronnie Black, Newton of Collessie, Fife, which also established a centre record when selling back up to Aberdeenshire for 20,000gns to Charlie Proctor and son Kevin, who run the Conveth flock at Turriff.
