PERTH MART TO CLOSE
PLANS TO amalgamate Stirling and Perth livestock markets were announced today, Tuesday, by United Auctions, the company which sells from both centres.
The changeover will take place in a year's time when a new mart facility at Hill of Drip, near Stirling, is scheduled for completion. At that time, the company's premises at Kildean, Stirling, and Huntingtower, Perth, will close.
The world famous Perth Bull Sales will, therefore, be held at the new premises at Stirling from October, 2009. However, it is expected that thesales will retain the title Perth Bull Sales.
Both the Huntingtower and Kildean sites are expected to be sold for development.
