Travelling from Dumfries, Madelaine Archibald has been chasing the Winter second round qualifiers with her own My Little Sweetheart.

Having competed at Liverpool and Bolesworth as well as winning the National 128cms Gold League, this pair are certainly been consistent with good placings at South View and Morris before they went on to win a second round at a busy Arena UK.

A good treble clear over a strong course ensured Madelaine, who also competes in showing and working hunter classes, a place in the finals at Hickstead in July.

Some junior riders have been spotted giving the seniors some competition at a recent show at SNEC.

Shaunie Greig has only just recently returned home from a successful trip to Onley Showground where she and Casino Royale were in winning form heading a Grand Prix qualifier.

Swapping onto Cierania, an eleven-year-old previously ridden by Sarah Hutt she proceeded to return two double clears at their first show together to take home two blue rosettes.

Also now in seniors, Zander Stormonth has struck up a useful partnership with C Dizzi Lizy Von Der Held a previous ride of Leo Lorimer and Shannon Kelly.

Now with all their Newcomers double clears under their belt they have moved on to jumping the 1.15m Members cups with a win at SNEC on the Sunday.

Once again Lauren Forrest was on fire securing a few classes on her speedy pair of Cyrena Du Carel and WKD Cosmopolitan. Hard to beat it is easy to see why she stood at the top of the Bronze league points with three firsts and three seconds over the two-day show.

Ayr’s Lucy Rennie is always one to watch with Jim Wilmer’s Parkhill Legacy who was the winner of a 1.05m this time but she now also has the fifteen-year-old Karandasj sired mare Bernita to play with.

A winner of seven classes since Lucy gained the ride just a few weeks ago including three wins at Muirmill they have already qualified for their 85cm and 95cm second rounds but added another 85cm red ticket here.

Airdrie’s Sandy Laird is never far away with the speedy chestnut Dali V but also won a 1.10m n his first outing with the eleven-year-old, Sydney gelding Baquito.

Abbi Diamond travelled from just Edinburgh to score twice with her own Zirocco Bue sired mare Swarovski Blue.

Galloping through the start both times she scorched round the 1m speed classes to be the delighted winner of both.
