A COLT foal from Harry Emerson ruled supreme at the Kilmarnock Foal Show when he not only secured the colt foal championship but went one further to take the supreme honours.
Following on from his foal and male championship on his only other outing at the City of Aberdeen Show, this March-born son of Arradoul Balvenie resides with his dam, Middlebank Carlogie Anna Marie, at Collessie and was brought out on the day by Ronnie and Pete Black. He was also deemed the best bred by exhibitor by judges Kevin Wilson and Alistair Christie.
Following him from the colt championship to stand reserve supreme was Jim and Linzi Kennedy’s Hillhouse Prince, a son of Dillars Excel bred from Spittal Contessa. This May-born colt previously stood reserve champion at Moffat Show as well as foal champion at Biggar, Kilbarchan and Kittochside.
Taking the filly foal championship was Desi Hill’s Collessie Snowflake, a Collessie Stepping Stone daughter that joins Desi’s Westmill Clydesdale team. Born in May out of Carnfinton Enchantress and bought by Desi during the summer, this was her first outing.
Travelling all the way from Campbeltown were David and Callum McPahil, whose March-born filly secured the reserve filly foal title. That was Galcalfra Sweet Jessica, a third prize winner at the Highland Show that is a Carnaff Ambassador daughter bred from Galcalfra Sweet Chloe.
Among the seniors it was Alan and Evelyn Campbell’s Pacemuir Angus that continued his winning form to stand senior champion. Male champion at Lesmahagow and Strathaven shows as well as reserve colt at Ayr, this two-year-old gelding is by Dillars Scottie Boy and out of Rashillhouse Betty.
Taking the reserve here was Blackstone Duchess Lady, a yearling filly by Blackstone Highflyer from John and Margaret Duncan. Bred out of Gillside Mayflower, this was her first outing.
