Youngstock bred at the Miami Stud in Newton Stewart took home the spoils at the Scottish Sports Horse North of the Border Foal Show at Muirmill.

Overall supreme was the youngstock champion, the three-year-old SSH graded stallion Miami Boy Cruiser, owned and bred by Hugh Paterson.

He is by Hootcha Boy, who is by the showjumping stallion Tornado, and out of the mare Autmn Cruise, who is a full sister to the grand prix jumper Cree Cruiser.

Overall reserve was the horse foal champion, Martin Doherty's foal Raini Day Rhu. Sired by Miami Hullabalo, owned by Hugh Paterson, this July-born filly foal was shown with her dam at foot, Raini Day Rhianna.

Kirstine Douglas judging said: "The supreme moved well, was athletic and looks to have a good future."

It was a one-two for Hugh in the pony section, when standing champion with his colt foal Miami Crackshot. Sired by the Welsh section B stallion Wian Master Darron, which qualified for the 128cm showjumping final the Highland Show, Crackshot is out of Miami Roubels, part of the Bubbles and Troubles bloodline where Miami Gold represented Great Britain in the European championships.

Reserve was Hugh's three-year-old black filly, shown by Beth McDonald. She is by the same sire, Miami Hourglass, and out of Miami Troubles, placed reserve champion at this show as a foal.

Youngstock reserve was Anne Dunlop's home-bred three-year-old filly Daunting Melody. A big winner in hand this season with several championships, she is by Dauntless Prince and out of Queen of Hearts.

Horse foal reserve was Strathearn Sports Horses with their unnamed foal by Sir Shutterfly and out of It's A Secret.
