OVERALL horse champion at a sunny Stranraer Show was Jennifer Garland's horse champion, Jemoon Tambourin Man.

Champion of the ridden horse section, the final supreme judging tested the horses temperaments as a motorbike demonstration in the nearby main ring unsettled some horses.

The five-year-old gelding was bred in Yorkshire by Jane Moore and is by Jemoon Celtic Warrior and out of Jemoon Razzle Dazzle, and he arrived at Jennfer's Ayrshire home on Good Friday in March.

He has been shown in riding horse classes with a great deal of success, being supreme at Newmilns and New Cumnock shows and champion at Lanark RC and Ayrshire Equitation.

Overall reserve was the mini pony supreme, Helen Outram's Bronheulog Charmer, ridden by Emma Outram. A past supreme of this show with previous rider Julie Bankier, the pony went through the card, winning the mini show hunter pony championship, the overall mini supreme title before lifting the overall riding pony supreme championship.

Reserve mini supreme was the riding pony mini champion, Maypole Stargate, the lead rein pony from James Stuart. Ridden by grand daughter Bella Waugh, the eight-year-old gelding is by Barkway Crescendo and out of Rosslayne Polly-Ann. This year they have been champion at Mysercough and Penrith, reserve at Puddledub and Friends of Ponies UK, and third at the Highland.

Bella's sister Chloe was the overall riding pony reserve champion with Small-land Accolade, an eight-year-old mare by Small-land Love Dance and out of Small-land Alisia. They have qualified for the Royal International and were champion at Cumberland and first at both Ayr and the Highland.

In the mountain and moorland ponies Sheila Clark selected Heather Kerr with Maypark Rainbow for the overall title after winning the ridden championship.

The 12-year-old Welsh section D gelding also takes part in working hunter pony classes and has qualified for Blair.

Reserve was the in-hand winner Julia Whitaker's Highland mare Heather of Glenshian, a nine-year-old mare by Moss-side Iain Mor and out of Jessie of Avonview.

Ridden mountain and moorland reserve was Hengwys Cymro from Lauren Jarvis and ridden by Holly MacMillan, more usually seen in working hunter pony classes where they were champion at Ayr and reserve at Dundonald and Kilmaurs.

The in-hand reserve was Eleanor Crate's brood-mare Doragn Velissa, a 16-year-old mare by Friars Freelance and out of Castellau Vita, that was champion at Fenwick and her foal Dunaskin Rohan headed the in-hand pony championship.

Rohan, a Welsh section B colt foal, is by Eleanor's stallion Skellorn Graffiti and this was his fifth win. The full sister Rivendell, a bay two-year-old filly, was champion at Moniave and reserve supreme at Dalrymple.

Champion of the in-hand hunters was Emma Auld with the brood-mare Wildthing III, a 10-year-old mare by the Dutch warmblood stallion Oklund, with her first foal at foot by Balou Du Rouet.

Reserve was Hannah Burns with Haighmond Midnite At Last.

Coloured champion was Pamela Norton's in-hand winner, My Eagles Star.
