WITH an increasing number of younger riders enjoying the fun and the thrill of jumpcross the team at Grange Farm, Wittering are relaunching the popular mini competition.

The mini competition is for children aged 7 to 11-years-old and all the fences are no more than 2ft – apart from the joker fence for those feeling brave at 2ft3in.

Robin Dunlop of jumpcross said: “JumpCross is an ideal way for the younger children to have a go at riding across country without the worry of jumping solid fences.

“We have a lot of Pony Club members coming to our training events and competitions and want to encourage more of the younger riders to come and have a go.

“Jumpcross is great fun, requires skill and concentration to go clear but without the anxiety faced by many when it comes to jumping fixed fences.

“The mini course includes water and ditches over cross country terrain and is a great way to build up confidence in the pony as well as the rider.”
