TILLYOCH Equestrian Centre in North-east Scotland was kept busy in December with two well supported shows.

The owners, Sarah and Michael Hamilton, also managed to find time for a trip to London for the Olympia Horse Show, where their daughter, Charley, was paired up with William Whitaker in the Pony Club mini major competition.

Riding her consistent winner, Bee Bop A Lula, Charley and William managed to scorch round almost a second quicker than her nearest rivals to record a moment of a lifetime. There are few riders who can claim a win at this International show, this will surely be one of Charley's highlights forever.

Back home and this young lady had a quiet weeked by her standards with four wins to her name on Bee Bop A Lula, Kayem Fridays Dance, My Diamond Geezer and Taraco Emerald. Little sister, Natasha, scored a double with her cute little Cherry Pie.

Alana Hood had a good weekend scoring a victory and some placings with Trevoulter Brenins Treasure before heading the pony open with her home produced dun, Miami Sandyman.

Sandy McLean couldn't quite catch Alana in the open when his pony Red Flamenco had to settle for second place but an earlier win in the winter 128/138cm with Tatty Desire would make his long journey back to Edinburgh worthwhile.

There seems to be no stopping Jessica Barnett at the moment. The start of her relationship with Braveheart Warrior is littered with red rosettes adding another two here with smooth effective rounds in 1.10m and a pony open.

Regulars at Tillyoch had some extra pressure at their latest outing when Bo'ness' Jemma Kirk brought a few horses along for some practise. The 10-year-old Qualoub De Saffrey has been jumping 1.30m abroad and was seen in the 1.40m at the Highland Show, but had a play around at 1.10m here.

The bay, Tornado Frivol, made the 1.20m open look too easy and it was good to see Jemma with yet another nice novice in the shape of Unisson Des Saules, a six-year-old stallion which popped round the 80cm.

Aimee Bell had an uncharacteristic two down in the World Class Programme Young Riders, at Olympia, but came home to leave all the fences standing in a 1.30 m open. Runner-up, Yolanda Geddie wouldn't be too disappointed as her Bishopton team of horses were in the money throughout the day with Ranee and Zicher picking up a blue ticket each.
