A SHETLAND filly from Harry Sleigh went on to stand supreme between the Highland and Shetland ponies at the recent Tayside Foal Show.

Following on from her red ticket at the Great Yorkshire and championship win at Turriff Show, three-year-old Wells Vitesse is full of home breeding, being by Wells Highlight and out of Wells Vita.

Taking the reserve Shetland honours, as judged by K Adam, to follow the champion all the way through from the standard black three-year-old class was W and P Robertson's Hedderwick Princess. She is by Hedderwick Romeo and out of Wells Parody.

Best miniature Shetland was Alichbrae Ruby, a Kerswell Montgomery-sired foal from K and S McKay.

Heading up the Highland ponies was Kim Stretch's yearling filly, Silver Rose of Roisbheinn, that was picking up her first championship having previously stood first in her class at Perth, Braco and Blair Castle. Sired by Chapelhill Earl, she is out of Beauty of Sma' Glen, a mare bred by Kim's mother.

Luniaig of Dunrui from Sarah Jane Ross was tapped forward by Mrs Heather Gow into the reserve spot. First at Nairn Show and second at Keith, this three-year-old filly is by Elmere Loch Ryan and out of Rollo of Dunrui.

Janet Smith's colt, Murrayshall Uileam Beag, stood best foal. The breeding here is Moss-side Domhnach on to Tess of Glendoll.
