THE Animal Health Trust (AHT) have confirmed a case of equine herpes virus type one (EHV-1) in the west of England.
Two horses have been affected after showing neurological signs. The yard has been isolated while an epidemiological investigation is conducted.
The AHT have said: "We do urge all the wider equine community to remain alert but not to spread unsubstantiated rumours that can cause alarm. They should contact their veterinary surgeons if they are concerned and also report cases, now and in the future, to the Animal Health Trust."
