After a busy season ever, Sue Carson Saddles is not only increasing manufacturing capacity for its range of bespoke saddles and accessories, but also busily recruiting additional Ddstributors to its nationwide network and Sam Turpitt has just been appointed as the new distributor for Scotland.

Sam started riding at the age of three and was a member of the North Cotswold Pony Club until moving to Aberdeenshire aged 13. After leaving school, she worked at her uncle’s point to point yard in Warwickshire, before gaining an HND in Information and Office Management and then posts with major oil and gas companies in the IT sector.

Sam has been a committee member of Findon Riding Club for 10 years, serving as chairman and secretary, She is also Secretary for the Riding Club Area 22 Committee and Riding Clubs in Scotland, and the Riding Club Representative on the Grampian BHS committee. She and Fiddler’s Hat won the title of BRC Rider of the Year in 2007 by gaining the highest combined score for riding test and style jumping at the National Championships, where they were also members of the winning riding test and style jumping teams. Sam’s commitment to the equestrian community includes finding time to be the newsletter editor for the British Dressage Scottish Region Newsletter.

She says: “I have evented to novice level, show jumped to newcomer level and am now focusing on British Dressage. I’ve competed at the Regionals for the last few years and in addition to being the best placed Scottish horse at the 2010 Home International at Keysoe with Fiddler’s Hat.”

Just to ensure she stays busy, Sam is a List 2 BRC Riding Test & Style Jumping judge and working towards her BHSAI qualification.
