BY the time you read this the Royal Highland Show will have started.

The forecast is looking mixed, but we are all crossing our fingers and toes that it's wrong! Trying to decipher a rain soaked paper mache notepad and identify horses whose numbers have disintegrated and long disappeared off their handlers back is no fun. Let's hope by talking about it the rain doesn't arrive.

The horse side of the show has very long hours and a set of roller skates to get to the different horse rings would be a good idea as it's inevitable that some championships will clash.

This year there's no light horse parade. there's mixed feelings for this, for some exhibitors who show in the smaller outside ring the chance to parade in the main ring is really important, but at the same time I know there will be some exhibitors that are quite glad there's no need to bring their horses back out to parade.

What's your thoughts?
