THIS month's issue of Scottish Horse represents hundreds of miles.

We are coming to the end of the crazy month where there's shows and events all over the country, both days of the weekend and mid-week. It means long long days at the event and an equally long day typing up the results and report following it. This month there's reports from the north show circuit of Black Isle and Turrifff and also Perth Show, with some driving and eventing news too.

In the office we say the Royal Highland Show represents the mid way point of the show season and it's all downhill from there. Similarly, Blair Castle Horse Trials represents almost the end of the outdoor show season.

It's been a fantastic summer for shows, entries are up and the great weather has really helped to bolster a feel good factor.

Regular visitors to nex week's event at Blair Castle will notice a slight layout as the field over looked by the castle has been removed and there will be two rings adjacent to each other further down the hill.

Keeping with the international theme, Dr Tim Watson looks behind the scenes of being a FEI vet - something if we are at an event we never hope to need.
