The leaves are starting to change colour, the swallows are lining up on the telephone lines and thinking of leaving. Summer looks like it could be over.
The horses have started to change their coats and it's time to look back out the winter rugs. In fact, during last weekend's wild weather my horses were quite content to stay in their stable and one pony actually turned around and went back into her stable while I undid the bolts at another door! That's quite unusual, but the weather was particularly vile.
This month, Dr Vicki Glasgow looks at feeding the weaned foal and Dr Tim Watson looks at worming resistance in horses.
We also have an interview with the new owner at Rowallan. The news that the centre had been sold was surprising but it's future as an equestrian centre looks safe in the new regime.
Also, we have set up a reader survey that is available online, at www.scottishhorse.co.uk please take time to fill it in so that we can cater for your wishes.
