With the show season starting up, it was timely to hear from Neilston Show stalwart, Alec Whiteford.
Alec, who has been a committee member at Neilston for more than 70 years, was keen to share photographs of some of his and his good friend Robert Sloan, of Townhead Farm, Auchinleck’s prize winning Ayrshires during the 1970s.
Alec, who now lives at Over Kellie Farm, in Pittenweem, in Fife, left West Carsewell Farm, in Neilston, back in 1980 but keeps in touch with his friends from the show as well as still selling feed for Davidsons of Shotts.
