There's a pawsome event to take your prized pooch to next weekend. Bring your pup to Glamis Castle, Angus, on Sunday, August 7, for a real dogs’ day out.
Dogs’ Day Out is already well-established in Wales and is making its Scottish debut at Glamis Castle, Angus, at the invitation of Strathmore Estates and in the presence of the Dowager Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne.
Dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages are invited to try their paw at the various have-a-go activities on offer. From fastest recall to sausage catching and agility, there is something for every dog. The fun dog show includes classes for the best turned out dog and even a Canine Singer of the Year competition. All the competitions and games can be entered on the day.
Dogs’ Day Out is organised by Burns Pet Nutrition - a family business offering natural, home-cooked food for dogs, cats and rabbits. Led by veterinary surgeon, John Burns, the company has gone from strength to strength over the past two decades and now employs over 100 people.
Glamis Castle will be the company’s first foray into Scottish dog events and organiser Rowan Flindall-Shayle anticipates that it will be a barking success.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting a canine event in Scotland and are grateful for the opportunity to raise money for animal charities and organisations.”
In addition to the activities and entertainment on offer, there will be a plethora of stands and stalls ranging from animal charities and pedigree breeds to vintage vehicles and refreshments.
Whether you own a mischievous Miniature Poodle or a giant Great Dane, bring your scamp to Glamis on the 7th August for a day of fun and games in a most regal setting.
