East Lothian has a rich history in premium food production, with the sea and coast, the rolling farmland and the glorious Lammermuirs, the area is spoilt for choice with its natural resources.

Food and drink producers from the area will proudly be exhibiting their wares at The Royal Highland Show under the banner of Scotland’s food and drink county: East Lothian. Ten producers will be there to talk to consumers about the thing they are most passionate about, what they do and the environment they work in.

The companies are happily bound together as members of the first food and drink sector Business Improvement District (BID) in the world, to enable the producers to work collaboratively for customers, offering a one order, one invoice, one delivery system on behalf of all members of the BID company.

The BID operates as a not-for-profit company, governed by a board of directors made up of members. The company is also supported by East Lothian Council and Queen Margaret University.

For the past nine years they have taken stand space at The Royal Highland Show, of the 42 members, there will be 10 exhibiting.

There are new business joining this innovative set up regularly, helping each other to succeed in business. Pop along to the Scotland’s Larder Live and browse the range of products on show.
