Budding chefs looking to prepare for the festive season are invited to a Butchery Master Class at Hopetoun Farm Shop on Thursday 25th October.

The seasonal master class will centre around Hopetoun's award winning beef. In-store butcher, Derek MacIntosh will bone out the back of an Aberdeen-Angus, from the Hopetoun Farm, and demonstrate a variety of meat cuts including the classic T-Bone, rib roast (bone in), rolled sirloin and popeseye.

Guests will be invited to try their hand at removing the bone from a sirloin and tasting of the final product cooked during the demonstration.

Derek said: " We always have a number of people keen to find out how to deal with specific cuts of beef. The Butchery Master Class will give students the chance to get involved in the whole process of farm to plate."

The evening will conclude with an opportunity for guests to ask the Farm Shop butcher team and Head of Agriculture, Mike Eagers, questions on preparing fresh meats during the festive season, not just beef.

Master Class will take place at the Farm Shop on Thursday 25th October between 6.30-8.30pm – late night shopping until 9pm. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased direct from the Farm Shop or calling on 01506 830716
