AN export of embryos and semen to New Zealand, from one of the cutest breeds of sheep in the world, has been completed by Steve Jones and Richard Pilkington’s Alpine flock, at Shordley Hall farm.
The duo, have been involved with the Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep breed for more than two years and by using their network of contacts were able to secure the New Zealand order to a syndicate.
They are to develop the breed in the southern hemisphere. The first batch of embryos were implanted in early April with a second implantation scheduled for early May.
