A new post from Gallagher rewrites the book on electric fencing, bringing a new level of flexibility to permanent and temporary electric fencing systems.

Their new insulated line post, weighing just 1kg is easy to transport, and constructed from a PVC protected polyethylene exterior around a fibreglass core means it is fully insulated. With a unique flanged foot plate, it becomes as securely grounded as a driven wooden post too.

It is nevertheless, different from wooden posts in many other aspects.

“It can be installed manually without the need for post driving machinery and can be easily removed and relocated," said Mark Oliver, regional manager with Gallagher UK.

"It also is flexible so when an animal or something else contacts the fencing it will return to a vertical position.”

Movable clips that can be used with fencing tape as well as smooth wire, cord or plastic wire fencing can be quickly height adjusted meaning a line post fence can be easily changed to suit different sizes of livestock.

“The insulated line post is a real game changer, combining ease of use and flexibility with outstanding durability comparable with a wooden post,” Mr Oliver added.

“It can be used to create a semi-permanent or permanent fence without the need for any heavy machinery, which is expensive and can't be used in inaccessible places. Easily removed and relocated, it allows more flexible use of grazing.”

The new line post comes in 1.35m and 0.95m lengths and has a 10 year guarantee, although the anticipated lifetime is 25 years.
