Several Scottish pedigree Holstein herds and a Jersey unit have come up trumps to lift major titles in the prestigious All Britain Awards.
The Holstein awards came from a record breaking entry of 148 cattle for positions in 12 categories and were selected by three master judges comprising Kevin Wilson; Brian Davidson and Peter Waring, all under the watchful eye of steward Lynden Bustard. 
The animal gaining the highest number of points with 326 was Robert and Elaine Butterfield’s champion senior three-year-old in milk, Newbirks Jazz 1584, from the Ingleview herd in Lancs. She was champion at the Great Yorkshire Show, and made her presence felt at several other events.
Flying the flag for Scotland, Brian and Michael Yates’ four-year-old cow, Logan Sid Edie, from East Logan, Castle Douglas, won it’s section and Illens Atwood Australia, bagged the top honours in the five-year-old category, for the Laird family from Blyth Farms, West Linton.
Izzy Laird and her husband Colin, Blyth Farms, also won the champion maiden heifer award in the Jersey section with Rapidbay-UK Grandest Rumour.
