NORDIC machinery specialist, Kongskilde, has moved to strengthen its brand name by launching a full line of ploughs across Europe under its own name.
That means the Kongskilde Group's primary cultivation specialist, Overum, which makes the ploughs, could largely disappear as a brand in many markets. Överum has been part of the Kongskilde Group since 1998, and the launch is a natural extension of the group's ambition to strengthen the Kongskilde brand.
The range includes fully mounted, semi-mounted and conventional, as well as on-land reversible ploughs from 2-10 furrows and front-mounted ploughs - that adds up to 25 versions and 88 models.
Rene de Zeeuw, sales director of Kongskilde, said: "By gathering all products for soil preparation under the Kongskilde name, we'll make it easier for our dealers to concentrate on promoting and servicing a single brand. It is part of our 'one brand' strategy."
Designed to cope with harsh Nordic conditions, they are equipped with hydraulic stone release and the release pressure can be set individually for each furrow. Ploughs with shear bolt protection will be offered for areas and conditions with fewer stones.
The standard AX plough body has, in tests, shown a significantly lower power demand compared to some competitors, points out Kongskilde, which leads to reduced wheel slip and lower fuel consumption, plus smaller tractors can be used.
