SMALLER versions of Kverneland’s 6m hydraulic folding U-Drill have been added to the range.

New 3m and 4m rigid frame versions were shown at Tillage-Live in September, showing their potential to accurately maintain sowing depth at high forward speeds of up to 18kph.

These smaller models have electrically driven seed metering and are available in grain only or combined grain/fertiliser versions (badged U-Drill Plus).

The seed/fertiliser hopper is divided lengthways, allowing easy access to the metering units located on either side of the hopper.

U-Drill 3000 and 4m U-Drill 4000 have up to six working zones, including a front-mounted 800mm packer, two rows of 450mm conical discs, an offset wheel packer, CD coulters with 12.5cm row spacing and up to 100kg of coulter pressure, and a choice of following harrow.

As a guide, the U-Drill 3000 is priced from £47,500.

The seed/ferti combo Plus specification is also now available in the 6m version, plus there's new options including fully programmable headland management, and GEOcontrol, for variable rate seeding and section control.
