CAN-AM has launched a variety of both off road and on road vehicles this year, including the impressive new Traxter, as well as the Maverick X3, which will be available on the market as of next year.
The Traxter, described as a 'tough, capable and clever' side-by-side UTV, is set to tackle the utility segment throughout Europe, and it has been engineered to be easy to service and maintain. That applies to both the HD8 and HD10 engine vehicles and these also come with a handy one-year maintenance free warranty.
With both V-Twin Rotax engines having a high torque capability, they also have a low vibration feature that makes for a quiet and cool cockpit. The HD8 800cc engine gives 50 hp, while the 976cc engine gives 72 hp.
For work in all climates and environmental conditions, this latest vehicle is equipped with an all-new high rigidity chassis and front corner protectors, with extreme front bumper plates. Skid plates are another safety addition, with high strength aluminium used for durability and strength.
Included is Can-Am's exclusive suspension, which features a front 'double A' arm, to help cope with rough terrain and allow a smooth ride, even while carrying heavy loads.
Its capability includes four driving modes and a four-mode traction system, with a tight turning radius. The quick response steering system enhances low speed riding with smoother and more precise power delivery, and larger CVT ratios, which deliver optimal torque for heavy loads.
There are several configurations which can be had, including the multi-mount winch kit, front hitch – with or without winch – and the rear hitch, which allows the vehicle to tow up to 907kg and carry up to 454kg in the cargo box, which can come with a powered tilt bed.
When towing heavy weight materials, the Apache 360 LT tracked system can be fitted to both the front and rear of the vehicle.
Completed with a soft cab enclosure, due to its Bimini top roof, soft doors and soft rear panel, the Traxter has a spacious and comfortable cockpit, which allows it to travel with three adult passengers.
The high-performing Maverick 3 is a pretty unconventional ATV, which is an impressive vehicle which provides more comfort and confidence at higher speeds.
More of a fun vehicle, than a workhorse, its 900cc turbocharged and inter-cooled engine is rated at 154 hp. With an impressive 113 ft-lb of torque, that means you can travel from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 85 mph.
It has a fully welded low-profile cage and centred accelerator and brake pedals, as well as a low seating position. This unique vehicle, which has 53% better torsional stiffness and 20% lighter than its closest competitor, has a fitted D-shaped steering wheel, which adjusts to 25 degrees, including an integrated gauge with 1.5 turns lock-to-lock quick-ratio turning.
The Maverick is also fitted with advanced airflow dynamics, with three dedicated air intakes – two for the CVT and one for the engine – located high and dry for clean air and easy servicing.
Included is a Donaldson air filter, which can withstand whatever the environment throws its way, especially extreme sand conditions. A removable hood and grill is also featured, which results in easy radiator cleaning.
