UK debut for Manitou’s NewAG loaders
ONE major launch amongst the telehandlers will be Manitou’s NewAg range which consists of nine models.
These have a wide choice of transmissions (including a CVT), an easy access cab and better visibility, improved soundproofing and many innovative control options. They are powered by a new 3.6-litre Deutz TCD3.6L4 engine which offers 101-136hp, depending on the model.
Intelligent hydraulics concepts, such as ‘Quicklift’ enables operators to extend or retract the telescope and lift the boom simultaneously; ‘bucket shaker’ is a new function controlled via a single movement of the controls; while ‘return to load’ memorises the angle of the initial position of the bucket, allowing operators to enact loading operations without adjustment.
Lots of new machines from Deutz-Fahr
Deutz-Fahr’s new 5, 6 and 7 Series tractors will be on show at LAMMA. Key features to look out for include new transmissions and suspensions, front integrated linkages, new cabs and better control layouts.
Of note for UK farmers is the 6 Series’ RCShift which features a new fully automatic robotised transmission with 30 forward and 15 reverse speeds. This electronic management system optimises performance in relation to operating conditions, responding and adapting to the requests of the user in real time.
The range has a Deutz Stage 4 engine, as well as the innovative front axle with optional outboard disc brakes, the new adaptive front suspension and the high performance hydraulic system with proportional electronic control.
A new style cab with all around improved visibility enhances operator comfort, ease of use and safety. A five-inch colour display provides the driver with a stream of data on the tractor’s operating conditions. A new armrest joystick provides excellent operator comfort. Noise levels are reduced due to the fact that the cab and engine hood are not connected.
The cab is equipped with both electro hydraulic spool valves (for TTV and RCshift models) and mechanical spool valves (for RCshift and Powershift models). For all models, the front lift and front loader integrated controls can be mechanical or electro-hydraulic.
The 5 Series compact utility tractors have their cabs mounted on ‘Hydro’ silent blocks, which cuts noise and vibration by up to 40%, plus front axle suspension. Cab updates improve visibility and ergonomics and all benefit from a 5% increase in engine power and reduced fuel consumption and emissions. All engines are now compliant with Stage 4 (Tier4 Final) emissions regulations.
A key feature on the 7 Series is its easy-to-use and ergonomic MaxiVision 2 cab, with its five inch colour display in the dash console using the new InfoCentrePro, which shows a complete range of up-to-date personalised operating data. Armrest control using the MaxCom joystick is also new addition.
The 7 Series’ Deutz 6.1 engine meets Stage 4 (Tier 4 Final) emission standards and provides a greater torque reserve and starts with a larger torque and the continuously variable TTV transmission has been upgraded and has a top speed of up to 60 km/h capability.

New Bobcat telescopic loaders

A new range of Stage IV compliant telescopic loaders for the agricultural industry will be shown for the first time on the Doosan Bobcat EMEA stand at LAMMA.
Backed by a three-year warranty, they are manufactured at the company’s plant in France, and comprise of five models covering maximum lifting capacities between 2.6 and 3.8 tonnes with lifting heights from 6 to 7m.
They are designated using a new naming system showing lifting capacity/lifting height performance at a glance – TL26.60 and TL30.60 Compact productivity models TL35.70, TL34.65HF and TL38.70HF Productivity and High Flow models
The majority of the models are available as ‘agri’ versions, with a number of additional features providing higher comfort and productivity to meet most farming requirements.
The loaders are powered by a Bobcat D34 Stage IV/Tier 4 final compliant diesel engine and its compact design has allowed a new low-profile engine hood to be used for improved visibility.
The TL34.65HF high productivity model, provides a maximum lift capacity of 3.4 tonnes to 6.42m. This has a class-leading 190 l/min load sensing pump (150 l/min at the auxiliary line) and flow sharing distributor to allow operators to work at significantly lower speeds, consume less fuel and benefit from remarkably shorter working cycles.
On the TL26.60 and TL30.60, the cab which can be mounted in two different ways – as a ‘low’ cab that results in a very low 2.1m height, or a higher position to optimise visibility.
All models get power lift lifting technology to optimise hydraulic flows between boom cylinders, automatic parking brake for better safety and convenience, plus an automatic fan inverter for better cooling. There’s also boom cushioning and an air suspension seat for more comfort while working.

McCormick’s 300hp-plus tractors

The most powerful McCormick tractor ever built will be unveiled at the LAMMA – the X8 VT Drive will be produced in three models with engine power outputs of 264hp, 286hp and 310hp.
Ray Spinks, of McCormick;s distributor, AgriArgo UK, said that ploughing, cultivating, sowing and powering big grass mowers and other harvesting machinery will be the main roles performed by the tractors, but their size and weight make them also suitable for heavy-duty road work.
Key features include a heavy-duty CVT transmission, with different operating modes for optimum performance and cost-saving fuel efficiency. There’s also electronically-controlled hydraulics |(with 157-litre or 212-litre load-sensing pumps), plus 115-litres/min dedicated to steering and other ancillary systems.
They have an integral front three-point linkage and pto assembly on the cast steel load-bearing chassis to complement a 12-tonne capacity rear three-point hitch, while tyres up 900/60 R42 on the rear axle will enable the tractors to operate with low inflation pressures for maximum traction and soil protection.
The Premiere cab, as featured in top-spec form on Premium versions of the X7 Pro Drive and VT Drive tractors, completes the package.
Optional precision steering using satellite-based positioning and the high-ratio EasySteer system for less arm twirling during headland turns, are available for accurate bout-matching and least effort for a highly productive operating experience.
