FOLLOWING quite a short lead-in time, New Holland Agriculture has completed its acquisition of Kongskilde's grass and cultivation business.

Following an announcement made in October of its intentions towards the Danish business, New Holland is now set to expand its new implement product lines with this important acquisition.

The deal, which includes two plants in Europe, in Poland and Sweden, and other facilities in the EMEA, APAC and NAFTA regions, will be taken over by CNH Industrial February 1.

This means that Kongskilde's tillage, seeding and hay and forage solutions under such brand names as Kongskilde, Överum, Howard and JF, with now be sold under the NH banner, with their own branding and colours – at least for now.

Kongskilde's sales, dealers and importers will continue to operate with no disruption, said New Holland this week, and it plans to gradually integrate the new implements into its own product offering over time.

This deal underlines some big changes in the farm machinery business, with Japanese tractor/construction machinery giant now in control of Kverneland Group products.

It also marks New Holland's ambition to become a full-line player: “This is an important step in our strategy to provide our customers around the world innovative and complete solutions to their farming needs,” said Carlo Lambro, New Holland Agriculture's brand president. “We are creating a strong global platform that will provide growth opportunities for the Kongskilde and New Holland Agriculture brands.”
