GLOBAL machinery giant, Massey Ferguson, has upped the game on its ambitions to be a full-line seller of farm equipment with a new telehandler range.

This includes everything from a semi-compact MF TH.6030 for work in restricted spaces, through to the high capacity MF TH.7038.

Its four new models have lift capacities from 3-tonnes to 3.8-tonnes with lift heights from 6m to 7m. All have a hydrostatic transmission with power coming from a 3.4 litre four-cylinder, Tier IV compliant Doosan engine.

That power plant is tweaked to deliver 100hp on the MF TH.6030 and MF TH.7035 and 130hp on the MF TH.6534 and MF TH.7038. All have three selectable steering modes – two-wheel steer, four-wheel steer and crab-steer – to cope with various terrains and needs.

The entry-level MF TH.6030 semi-compact offers a choice of two cab positions within its short 5.71m wheelbase and narrow, 2.1m wide chassis and is ideal for working in tight areas. However, it can lift three tonnes to 6m for optimum versatility when loading bales, fertiliser or manure.

At just 2.1m tall, the low cab version offers access to height-restricted buildings. It has a 100 litre/min hydraulic pump to deliver the lift.

With a more powerful 130hp engine, its sister, the MF TH.6534, comes with 190 litres/min hydraulic flow for faster cycle times. Capable of lifting 3.4 tonnes to 6.5m, it's an all-round workhorse which is also set up to tow trailers.

For those needing extra reach and lift capacity, the MF TH.7035 has the lower powered engine but can lift 3.5 tonnes and has a reach of 7m.

Top of the range is the 130hp MF TH.7038. This will lift 3.8 tonnes and to 7m. It also has the uprated hydraulic power.

On all models, the engine is now mounted lower to give improved visibility to the right of the driver. Access for servicing and maintenance is also better, via a new reinforced bonnet and catch.

A fan inverter, a feature on the MF 9000 Series telehandlers, is now available with an automatic option to keep the engine clean, with the automatic mode selected via a button on the dashboard.

There's a four-range hydrostatic transmission on all the models, with two mechanical gears and two hydrostatic ranges. This has a creeper function for operations that require low speed but high engine revs.

More comfort for the operator comes via a new boom cushioning system, plus better visibility from a curved glass front windscreen and a clear look out of the rear.

Inside the cab there's also an electronic park brake as standard, with a wide-opening door making it easier to get into the latest (and optional) high comfort suspended seat.
