Manitou back in pivot steers

Manitou’s new MLA articulated telehandler is just one of nine models in the company’s revamp of its offerings in the overarching NewAg line up.

There’s a wide choice of transmissions, an ‘Easy step’ access to the cab (on either side) with better soundproofing and ergonomics at its centre. Marking a return to the articulated side of the market, the central position and width of the driver’s cab improves visibility, especially to the front of the machine.

That’s also helped by the overhead louvred protection grid incorporated in the cab, which offers a clear view when working at heights and safe with it.

Manoeuvrability is a key feature and it uses ‘Intelligent hydraulics’ and ‘Active CRC’ boom suspension, to reduce driver fatigue.

Bobcat's boom lift

THE NEW range of French-built agri-designated telescopic loaders from Bobcat come with a three-year warranty.

There’s five models with maximum lift capacities between 2.6 and 3.8 tonnes, and lifting heights of 6-7m. Their naming system denotes lifting capacity/lifting height performance at a glance – they are the TL26.60 and TL30.60 Compact productivity models; the TL35.70, TL34.65HF and TL38.70HF Productivity and High Flow models.

Power comes from a Bobcat/Doosan D34 Stage IV/Tier 4 final compliant diesel engine and a new low profile engine hood improves visibility for the operators. Three outputs are available – one of 75hp/325 Nm, without diesel engine fluid (DEF) injection and with a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC); another rated at 100 hp/430 Nm, with DOC and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) with DEF injection after-treatment technologies; and the range-topping 130hp/500 Nm unit with DOC, SCR and DEF injection.

The TL34.65HF is a high capacity model which will take 3.4 tonnes to a maximum lift height of 6.42m. Its high flow technology hydraulic system – also available on the TL38.70HF model – produces 190 litre/min from the load sensing pump.

Big loader from Hyundai

Hyundai showcased a new 'Ag Loader’ at LAMMA a couple of months ago. It is a 15-tonne class HL757-9A wheeled loader with a shovel volume of 2.7m³ and a 2.84m dumping height and a maximum reach of 1.61m.

Available through Willowbrook Hyundai, of Northants, the extras added to convert the machine into the ‘AG Loader’ include a hydraulic quick coupler, a 3.5 cubic metre grain bucket, a full auto greasing system, agricultural Goodyear spec’ Goodyear tyres, a blue light reversing system and a flashing orange beacon.

It has a Tier 4 Cummins six-cylinder engine powering it and the maximum torque of 932Nm is delivered from 1400rpm, and this operates a five-speed powershift transmission with torque converter lock-up starting at second gear to minimise fuel consumption as does its three engine settings (power, standard, economy), four gear-shifting programmes and three torque converter modes.
