BROXBURN based Field and Forest Machinery is to sell a new range of state-of-the-art firewood processors throughout the UK.

These will be imported from Finnish company, Regon, which has more than 60-years’ worth of experience in such machines.

Manufactured using 3D printing, laser, and robot production technology, Regon’s small, but highly advanced, processors weight just 470kg and so can be easily moved to where it is needed.

Costing £8100, the processor can handle timber at up to a length of 20-40cm and a diameter of 25cm. It feeds a foldable conveyor system of 3.4m.

Standard fitment is a splitting blade of 2/4 configuration, with an optional 2/6 set-up also available

Also new from the company is a new tree shear.

Weighing just 300kg, the TMK tree shear is light enough and compact enough to fit on a five-tonne excavator, yet strong enough to be used on a 20-tonner.

According to Field and Forest Machinery, the Finnish-made shears can also be fitted to rough terrain forklifts.

Requiring double acting auxiliary hydraulics, the shears come with easy-fit, bolt-on mounting brackets, meaning they can be changed in minutes.

The state-of-the-art TMK Tree Shears are made from Hardox 400 steel for extra durability, though the blade is upgraded to Hardox 500.

Its simple, compact design, coupled with the use of this steel, makes them capable of handling trees up of to 25-30cm wide, depending on whether they are hard or softwood, with the shears opening up to a maximum of 70cm.

Options include a hydraulic extension beam and a bolt-on extension beam collector.
