FENDT is to equip some of its smaller tractors with its first-class guidance systems more likely to be found on its more sophisticated tractors ranges.
The Fendt 300 Vario will be available ex-factory as a ProfiPlus variant with integrated guidance system, and the PowerPlus equipment variants of the Fendt 500 and 700 Vario series can now get the option of adding VarioGuide, irrespective of the original spec’ level chosen.
Fendt said it was the only tractor maker to offer a fully integrated guidance system in 100hp class tractors and said it would enable small to medium-sized farms to share in the economic benefits that guidance offers.
From now, the marque’s highest-selling tractor series, the 300s, will have a new ProfiPlus equipment variant, which features a 7-inch terminal to host the guidance technology. This means the series, spanning a performance range of 100 to 138 hp can come with the package.
As in larger models, customers can choose between a NovAtel receiver or a Trimble one with a range of precision levels.  In the lead-up to the Agritechnica event in the autumn, Fendt is also now offering PowerPlus Fendt 500 and 700 Vario models with auto guidance.
An open system architecture means that the new PowerPlus models can be equipped with a NovAtel or a Trimble receiver, as per customer choice. This means the system ranges from the VarioGuide standard, accurate to within +/- 20 cm, up to VarioGuide RTK, accurate to within +/- 2 cm.
Fendt argued that more than 60% of its 700 Vario range now leave the factory with wiring in place for such a system and so it made sense to offer the feature further down the food chain.
From mid-2017, all Fendt tractors, from the 300 to the 1000 series will comply with EU-type approvals for agricultural and forestry vehicles, coming as standard with wide-angle mirrors for better visibility and the optional rotary beacon will now be fitted with long-life, powerful LED diodes.
The award-winning flat face hydraulic coupling is now available in the Fendt 800 and 900 ranges. First used in the 1000-series, this design can be operated at full pressure which prevents oil leaks and stops dirt ingress.
The couplings come as standard with high flow rates – 140 litres for rear valves or, optionally, up to 170 litres on the fourth rear valve.
